What does a house remember?
Neituri Manor was completed in 2025. It stands as a new house in an old landscape, shaped by timber, craft, forest and the waters of Konnevesi.
What came before the manor?
People have lived and worked beside these waters for generations. The forest, shoreline and water carry that long history, shaping how the estate was laid out. Neituri Manor itself is a new chapter in the landscape, not a house passed down through one family. It was designed and built to sit within that older setting rather than to imitate it.
What is the canal?
A short channel cut by hand through the rock so that timber could once be floated between the waters. It is a short walk from the manor and remains part of the walking routes across the estate. The forest has grown over its banks, but the cut itself remains visible on the ground. It is one of several quiet traces of earlier working life on this shore.
When was the manor completed?
Neituri Manor was completed in 2025. Traditional Finnish timber construction was carried out with contemporary care, using materials drawn from the surrounding forest wherever possible. Nothing decorative was added for its own sake; every detail serves the house or the view. The result is a building that feels settled into its landscape despite being new.
Built to be lived in, not looked at.
The manor was made for real life at this latitude. Deep window seats against the winter dark, rooms that gather people in, and doors that open straight onto forest and water.
