Winter · December–March
How quiet can a place actually be?
Winter at Neituri runs from December to March. The lake freezes solid enough to ski and walk on, snow silences the forest, and the house glows with candles, fires and the daily heat of the saunas. The ice hole by the jetty stays open all season.
What are the days like?
Husky teams come to the manor and take you across the ice, and there is skiing on the frozen lake, snowshoeing in the forest and ice fishing with a guide. Darkness falls early, so afternoons often move indoors to the fire while the sauna and the ice hole anchor the evening. The pace is set by the party: some days are full of activity outdoors, others are spent almost entirely by the fire with a book. The host arranges guides and equipment for anything on the ice or in the forest.
What about the northern lights?
On clear nights they are visible from the jetty or the frozen lake, away from any artificial light. The host will wake you if the sky decides to perform. There is no guarantee on any given night, since it depends on solar activity and cloud cover, but the manor's dark surroundings give a genuine chance across a multi-night stay. Warm clothing and a flask of something hot are kept ready for exactly this.

Tell us who is coming, and when.
Neituri is let to one party at a time, so every stay begins with a conversation rather than a booking engine. Send your dates and party size and you will hear back within one working day.
